Overview of Ramps
In architectural design, the most basic function of ramps for buildings is to connect inclined traffic channels with elevation differences on the ground or floor, as well as vertical evacuation facilities at building entrances.
Ramps are a form of continuous plane to achieve height difference transition, commonly used forms of ramps include pedestrian ramps, bicycle ramps, and car ramps for motor vehicles. Accessible ramps for wheelchair use can be seen as the evolution of pedestrian ramps, with special restrictions on guardrails, planar dimensions, and continuous slope lengths.
